Description

Earlier to mid 19th century. 2-storey and basement, 3-bay farmhouse with later additions of porch, attic, and single storey and attic wing. Rubble, squared for dressings and with contrasting red sandstone ashlar margins; harled W elevation.

E ELEVATION: substantial, gabled, stone porch at centre with window and door on S return; strip fanlight. Windows in flanking baysd at ground and in each bay at 1st floor. 2 gabled dormers with side lights, in outer bays.

W ELEVATION: towards steading; stair window at centre, flanked to left by lean-to addition at ground and window to far outer left. Window to each floor of outer right bay and at 1st floor to outer left.

S ELEVATION: 2 basement lights breaking ground towards centre; ground floor window to outer left and 1st floor window at centre.

N ELEVATION: adjoining N gable with door to W elevation and windows to E. Later piend-roofed bipartite dormer to E.

12-pane sash and case windows. Grey slates. End stacks with sandstone ashlar dressings and polygonal cans. Ashlar coped skews. Ashlar ridge and ball finial to porch. Octagonal cans. Rubble retaining wall to S and W.
