Horse-Gin House, Newhouse Farm Steading, Roxburghe Terrace, Dunbar

The Horse-Gin House at Newhouse Farm Steading, Roxburghe Terrace, Dunbar, dates back to the early 18th century and is part of a quadrangular steading. The structure is built from rubble and features pantile roofs that are piended.

The west range consists of a two-storey block with a pair of arched openings on the south side of the east front. There are two square windows at the ground floor and two more above, situated under the eaves. The north gable has been altered to accommodate garage doors.

The east range is a single-storey, L-plan structure that includes a cottage.

To the west of the steading is an octagonal horse mill, which is supported by three rubble walls. It has a pantiled roof, horizontal timber tie-beams, and a central millpost topped with a cockerel finial.
