Description
Newlands is an early 19th-century, two-story, three-bay farmhouse. It has a later rear extension. The farmhouse is constructed of rubble stone with red ashlar dressings, with rendered and lined sides.
The west elevation features three bays grouped towards the centre. A door at the centre has a moulded surround and architrave, above which is a small-pane fanlight. The east elevation has a wide, modern, single-story extension. The north side has a ground floor window at the centre and a first-floor window to the left. The south elevation has two ground-floor windows and one first-floor window, all to the right.
The farmhouse has sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern, except for the first-floor windows on the front elevation, which have a 15-pane pattern. The roof is slate-covered, with gable end stacks and ashlar coped skews. The statutory address is Newlands Farmhouse.
