Belhaven Church, Belhaven Road, Belhaven, Dunbar

Belhaven Church, located on Belhaven Road in Dunbar, was built between 1838 and 1840. It features a rectangular plan with a south bell turret and spire. The church is constructed from red whinstone that is snecked and squared, with droved ashlar dressings. The tower and belfry are made from Catcraig ashlar, and the roof is slated. The openings are hoodmoulded.

The south front has three bays and a gable front with octagonal finials at the corners. The center bay is advanced and rises to the tower above. There is a simple, boldly curved door surrounded by a tripartite pointed arch that features interesting tracery. Flanking this are two Y-traceried two-light windows. The tower has louvred openings and an octagonal steeple with blind slits and a slated roof, along with swept eaves. Moulded pedestal finials on the skews echo the steeple. The east and west elevations each have three bays with Y-traceried windows.

On the north (rear) side, there are two Y-traceried windows and a stained glass window at the center, along with a circular window in the gable head topped with a stone cross finial. There is a low parapet wall, although the railings have been removed. Square gatepiers and wrought-iron lamp stands are present.

A modern parish hall extension is located to the northwest of the church.

Inside, there is a panel-fronted gallery supported by cast-iron columns. The communion table has an arcaded frontage, and there is a raised central pulpit flanked by a corner organ to the east.
