Description
The Castle Hotel is a three-storey building from the earlier to mid-19th century, situated on an irregular corner site in Dunbar. It features harled ashlar with painted margins and a base course, along with a raised band course above ground level and margins around the upper windows.
The building has two bays facing Victoria Street and a single bay facing High Street. There is a wide door located at the rounded west angle, which includes storm doors and a large fanlight above. The ground floor windows have been enlarged to accommodate the public house use. At the north end of the northwest front, there are two small windows. The acute angle of the building meets the northeast gable, where a doorway encroaches on number 2 Victoria Street, leading to a stair inside. The roof is slated, with a harled stack at the end of the High Street range and an ashlar stack on the northeast gable.
