20 Brown's Place, East Linton

18 Brown's Place in East Linton is a terrace of four single-storey, three-bay cottages built in the early to mid-19th century. The cottages are constructed from whinstone rubble with red and grey sandstone dressings. Number 18 features squared and snecked stugged sandstone on its façade, while Number 20 is harl pointed, and Number 21 is faced with squared and snecked whinstone. Each cottage has a central door with flanking windows. There are later extensions at the rear of the cottages. The northern front has sash and case windows with a 12-pane glazing pattern. The roofs are predominantly covered with grey slates, although Number 18 has red pantiles at the rear, and Number 21 is also topped with red pantiles. The cottages share mutual gable stacks and have coped retaining walls.
