Description
Eastfield is a house designed by John Farquharson of Haddington, built around 1875. It has a rectangular plan and consists of a single storey with an attic. The exterior is made of squared and snecked, stugged sandstone, featuring droved dressings and chamfered reveals, along with overhanging eaves. The porch and attic dormers have kingposts and barge boards.
On the southeast elevation, the house is symmetrical with three bays. The central gabled porch has a shouldered lintel and a boarded door, with hoodmoulded windows on either side at the ground level. The attic windows break the eaves in gabled dormerheads.
The northwest elevation features sash and case windows with a 4-pane glazing pattern, along with end stacks. The roof is covered with purple slates.
