Description
Robinsfield is an early 19th century house that underwent significant expansion between 1895 and 1910 in a Modern movement style, which includes a tower house dating back to 1706. The original south front features two storeys with three windows, constructed from rubble with crowstepped gables and three dormers that have stepped pediments. Major additions made around 1907 to the north and east create an asymmetrical layout, complete with turrets and studio windows, crowstepped gables, and conical slate roofs. A tall rectangular turret is located at the northeast corner, topped with a parapet, and there is a large timber studio window along with other sash windows featuring stone mullions and transoms. The entrance is situated at the angle facing the lower outbuildings to the east, designed in a similar style. Inside, the house boasts panelled interiors and a staircase, along with original fittings.
