Description

The Old Church in Cowgate, Kirkintilloch, dates back to 1644, with an 18th century pulpit and fittings, and features a bell from 1663 made by Gerhard Koster. The church has a cruciform layout and is topped with four crowstepped gables. There is a modern museum doorway and approach steps, and the tombstones in the churchyard have been laid flat.
