Description
The Clydesdale Bank, located at 71 Main Street in Newmilns, dates back to 1826, as indicated by an elliptical panel on the raised central chimney. The building features old stonework that has been patched with cement and lightly incised to imitate stone courses. It is two storeys high with a three-window facade. The central doorway is complemented by a balustraded balcony above, which is flanked by large modern flat oriel windows, each containing three sashes. Additional architectural details include moulded eaves, a ridge roof, and two long low modern dormers.
