Description
Etruria is a single-storey, three-bay symmetrical villa built around 1870, featuring lower flanking single-bay wings. The exterior is made of painted ashlar sandstone and includes angle pilasters, a cornice, and a parapet.
On the south elevation, there are a pair of square panelled piers with flat square caps that lead to a short flight of steps. The balustrade returns across the front to meet the canted bays. The central entrance door is recessed and topped with an arched fanlight, surrounded by a pilastered architraved frame with an advanced keystone. Flanking pilasters support a bracketed cornice. The canted bays at the first and third bays have chamfered reveals, and there is a pierced balustrade above that connects to the parapet, which features a decorative crest in a raised central panel. The wings are set in shallow recesses, each with a bipartite window, and they have a cornice and blocking course with a raised central panel.
The east elevation consists of a single-storey end of the side wing with two regularly placed bays. The north elevation has not been seen since 2001. The west elevation also features a single-storey end of the side wing with two regularly placed bays and an entrance door at the rear.
The villa has two-pane timber sash and case windows, and a semi-circular fixed single-pane fanlight above the entrance door. The roof is piended with grey slate, featuring lead ridging and flashings on the main building and wings. There are tall brick stacks with projecting stone neck copes and paired cans, with a pair of stacks to the east of the house now painted to match the house.
The interior has not been seen since 2001.
