Description
116-118 John Finnie Street is an early 20th century, two-storey tenement building featuring shops on the ground floor. It has a flat-iron shape and is situated on a prominent corner site. The building has nine bays facing John Finnie Street and six bays on Bank Street, with one corner bay. The ground floor showcases large plate glass shopfronts and timber panelled two-leaf doors. The exterior is finished in polished red sandstone with a black granite basecourse, and it has a piended roof with broad eaves.
The interior was partially seen in 2003, but nothing original remains. The windows are timber sash and case with four-pane glazing. The roof is covered with grey slates and features ridge stacks and clay cans.
