Description
6 Dudhope Street in Dundee is a villa designed by David MacKenzie around 1840. It is a single-storey building with an attic, although the rear has been raised to two storeys. The villa features an ashlar front with raised quoins and rubble-built sides and rear.
The south elevation is single-storey and has three bays, with a central portico supported by square Doric piers that has a pediment. The flanking windows are adorned with pilastered margins and an entablature. There is a main cornice and a blocking course above.
The roof is gabled and platformed, covered with slate, and has gable-end stacks.
There is a low boundary wall along Dudhope Street and a higher wall to Laurel Bank, though the railing is missing. The entrance features square ashlar gatepiers topped with pyramidal caps.
