Description
The Bridge of Park in Glenluce dates from the late 18th century and was enlarged around 1839. It is a vehicle bridge that spans the Water of Luce and runs on a north-south axis. The eastern section features a double span bridge from the late 18th century, which has a segmental arch on the south side and a semicircular arch on the north side. The western section, added around 1839, consists of a single span with a broad segmental arch. The bridge is constructed of rubble, with granite slab coping. The eastern bridge includes ashlar piers, abutments, arch rings, and voussoirs. It also has triangular cutwaters on the central pier and crobels on the central pier and south abutment. The western parapet has been reconstructed, as well as the wingwall to the northeast.
