Description
24 Bank Street in Wigtown is a two-storey, three-bay house dating from the earlier to mid 19th century, situated in an irregular terrace on sloping ground. The exterior features dry dash with painted ashlar dressings, quoin strips, and a base course, along with architraved windows. At the center, there is a pilastered doorpiece topped with a cornice, leading to a deep-set door that has a letterbox fanlight, although the door itself is modern. The windows in the flanking bays, particularly the one on the right which is grouped close to the center, break the eaves at the first floor and are set in gabled dormerheads. The sash and case windows have a plate glass glazing pattern. The roof is covered with grey slates, and there is a single-storey wing that is tiled, with a stack located to the left.
