Description
The Fountain at Castlemilk, designed by David Bryce around 1865, is a free-standing structure featuring a basin surrounded by four Roman Doric columns. These columns were re-used from an earlier mansion at Castlemilk. The columns are linked by moulded round arches that have masked keystones and strapwork ornamentation above the entablature. The basin includes bronze lion mask spouts and pipes, while the rest of the fountain is constructed entirely of ashlar stone.
