Description
Kennels Cottage, built in 1867, is a single-storey and attic, three-bay cottage, likely designed by architect David Bryce. It is connected at the rear to a set of kennels. The exterior features stugged and snecked ashlar with polished dressings, and all roofs are covered with graded slates.
The cottage has mostly wide ground floor windows with timber mullions, bracketed eaves, and a massive stack at the south end. There is a projecting panelled chimney breast with set-offs. The west elevation includes an advanced gable on the right and a gabled porch in the re-entrant angle, which has a shouldered doorway. A low rear wing extends from the main structure.
The kennels consist of a rectangular-plan range located at the north end, enclosed by a large cast-iron railing and connected to the cottage by a gateway.
