Description
26 Main Street in Kirkcolm is a mid-19th century, two-storey, three-bay house that is part of a terrace. The ground floor is rendered and lined, while the first floor is harled, featuring painted raised margins.
On the east elevation facing Main Street, there is a door in the center, with windows arranged regularly on both the ground and first floors. The window in the right bay on the ground floor has been enlarged to a two-light design.
The south elevation is attached to a slightly taller building, No 24 Main Street, which is the Corsewall Arms Hotel. The north elevation is adjoined to No 28 Main Street.
The house has modern glazing and a mutual coped skew to the north. There is also a mutual painted rubble gablehead stack to the north. The roof is covered with purple slates and features octagonal cans.
