Description
This is an earlier 19th-century farmhouse built in an ornamental picturesque Gothic style. It is two storeys high, with a three-bay frontage and a full-height gabled wing to the rear. The farmhouse is constructed of painted rubble with polished red sandstone margins.
The south elevation features a three-bay design, with a prominent gabled centre bay flanked by pinnacled buttresses. The central bay contains a Tudor arched doorway, flanked by pointed arch sidelights, all covered by a continuous hood mould. The doorway has double-leaf panelled doors and a fanlight above. A tall, pointed window with a hood mould and Y-tracery sits above the doorway. To the outer bays are square-headed single-light windows, also hood-moulded on the ground floor. All windows are sash and case with four-pane glazing.
The west flank displays more elaborate Gothic glazing patterns, likely reflecting the original glazing scheme, with bipartite Y-tracery sashes. The roof is piended and covered with slate, featuring deep overhanging eaves. There are tall, octagonal chimney cans, with an apex stack to the gable. A two-storey, flat-roofed painted brick extension projects from the northeast side of the building.
