Church Hall, St Mary Street, Kirkcudbright

The church hall on St Mary Street in Kirkcudbright, designed by A B Crombie in the late 19th century, is a five-bay Gothic structure. It is built from snecked and stugged red sandstone, featuring polished dressings. The west end has a projecting gable with angle buttresses and pinnacles. There are three ground-level and three gallery windows, all with pointed heads set in recessed panels and separated by slender shafts. A decorative panel is located between the storeys and below the hoodmould of the upper windows. The hall has stepped coping with a drip mould underneath. The south elevation includes a door on the west side and a central gabled bay, while the north side features paired windows arranged in two tiers. The roof is covered with slate and includes a domed ventilator.
