Description
5 Church Place in Kirkudbright is a pair of terraced houses built around 1860. Each house is two stories high with an attic and features three bays. The exterior is made of squared, snecked rubble with painted margins and has rusticated quoins at the western central section. The entrance is marked by paired pilastered door pieces with blocking courses, and there are bipartite windows above. All windows are 8-pane sashes. The houses have later dormers, with one canted wallhead for each pair, both having piended roofs. There are end and ridge stacks, and the roofs are covered with slate. A revision in 1991 noted that No 9 has some modern glazing.
