Description
9 St Mary Street in Kirkcudbright is a terrace of two-storey and attic houses built in the later 19th century. The terrace features eight asymmetrical bays and is constructed from coursed, rock-faced Dalbeattie granite with polished sandstone dressings. Each floor has a continuous cill course, and all windows are fitted with lying-pane glazing and shallow hoods. Number 9 has two bays and a semi-circular headed door, while numbers 11 and 13 are mirrored, each with three bays, and have outer sections that are advanced and gabled. These houses also feature semi-circular headed doors with projecting porches supported by cast-iron columns at the re-entrant angles, along with four gabled dormers. The buildings have ridge stacks and a slate roof.
