Description
Glenairlie Bridge, dated 1825 on two diagonally opposite parapet terminals, is a road bridge over the River Nith. It features two wide segmental arches, one of which serves as a flood relief. The bridge is constructed entirely of grey ashlar stone, which is stugged with polished dressings. Below the springing line, the stonework is bullfaced. The central pier has a droved ashlar shallow, wide pilaster strip on either side of the cutwater. There is a band course beneath the coped parapets, which are also droved and curve outwards at the approaches.
