Description
Old Coshogle is a single-storey cottage built in the earlier to mid-19th century. It features a piend roof and is constructed from rubble with ashlar dressings, all of which are whitewashed. The cottage has four bays, with outer doors, one of which is a re-used door from the former Coshogle Castle, located on the left. The inner openings are bipartite, although one mullion has been removed. To the right, there is a full-height addition made around 1940 that contains a lavatory. The cottage has a central ridge stack that is coped and is roofed with graded slates. The re-used doorway is segmental-arched and has roll-moulding, while the other openings are square-headed. The doorway is flanked by much-worn carved blocks, which may serve as label stops.
