Description

The Railway Viaduct at Enterkinfoot, designed by engineer John Miller, was opened on October 28, 1850, as part of the Closeburn-New Cumnock line. This viaduct carries a double track high above the Enterkin Burn and features four round arches. It is constructed from channelled bullfaced red ashlar, with rusticated voussoirs and polished outer pilaster strips, along with a band at the parapet and a plain iron handrail.
