Description

This dovecot, likely built in the mid to late 18th century, is possibly a conversion of an earlier shed. It has a square plan and a pyramidal roof, situated on ground that slopes steeply towards the east. The structure comprises two levels; the lower level is built of roughly coursed and squared red rubble with ashlar dressings, while the upper level is constructed from handmade bricks. Two doors face west, with an additional door on the north wall positioned above a forestair. A drain is located low on the east wall, and flight-holes are positioned high on both the east and west walls. The roof is covered with graded slates. The statutory address is Milnhead House Dovecot.
