Description
The Old Luce War Memorial, built around 1919, is a squat obelisk made of granite ashlar. It features a bull-faced granite plinth that curves at the base of the obelisk. Each face of the memorial has polished granite panels that are slightly advanced. The panel on the north side is inscribed with the words, "Erected to the memory and in honour of the men connected with the parish of Old Luce who fell in the Great War 1914 - 1919," while the other three faces are inscribed with names. Additionally, the panel on the north side of the curved base includes the inscription "And in World War 1939 - 1945," along with names. Small wreaths are placed near the apex on each face of the memorial. The memorial is surrounded by low concrete-coped rubble enclosures.
