Description
This is an early 19th century house, originally known as Mill Hill, located on Threave Road, Kelton Hill, and formally addressed as Rhonehouse of Kelton. It is a two-storey, three-bay building constructed of painted rubble with rusticated quoins and raised margins. The front features a Doric pedimented portico with a dentil band separating the door and fanlight. The windows are single-light sash windows; plate glass is used on the upper floor, and the ground floor windows have four panes. An eaves band and a moulded eaves cornice run along the building. The roof is slate, with skew blocks and corniced end stacks. A two-story brick extension and modern dormers are present on the rear elevation.
The interior includes a central dog-leg staircase, a timber-lined dado, and panelled doors. The building was formerly an inn.
