Description
Slatehole is an early 18th century L-shaped building comprising a dwelling house to the west elevation, and a barn and storage area to the east. It is built on a steeply sloping site. The construction uses random rubble walling with a boulder base, and the walls are painted or rendered. The west elevation is single-storey on the right-hand side, dropping to two storeys at the left gable, reflecting the site's slope. Originally two single-storey cottages, the building has been combined, with a former second door now replaced by a window. Windows are bipartite or single-light plate glass sashes. The east elevation features a pebble-dashed barn adjoining the two-storey gable of a modern cottage. The entire building has recently been re-roofed with slate. A modern cottage to the east is not listed.
