Description
Kelton Mill is a former corn mill, likely dating from the later 18th century, that has been enlarged and significantly altered over time. The building is constructed of painted rubble and is arranged in an L-shape. It is built into rising ground to the west, resulting in a single-storey appearance on that side. A section of the north jamb was raised to two storeys around 1850, and dressed quoins are visible on the upper floor. Small windows are present on the north and south sides, with a large garage door inserted into the north facade. A two-storey, piend-roofed bay projecting to the east was demolished to create an open terrace. The mill wheel has been removed. A serrated brick course runs along the eaves of the west jamb, and the entire building has slate roofs. In 1984, the mill was converted into domestic use by A C Wolffe and Partners, commissioned by the National Trust for Scotland.
