Description
This is a single-storey, octagonal lodge, dating to circa 1770, which was re-erected on its current site circa 1970. Originally part of a pair of identical lodges built for Mollance House, this lodge is now used as a summerhouse or study.
The lodge is rendered with ashlar detailing around the edges, eaves course, cornice, and blocking course. It features sash windows with glazing arranged in an octagonal pattern, and a door facing east. There is a corniced octagonal stack on the roof, which is covered with facetted slate.
The other original lodge has been re-sited at Portrack, Holywood. A third, modern replica lodge has been constructed to the southeast of Glenkiln House, recreating the original pair.
