Description
The Walled Garden at Cummertrees Parish Manse, likely built in the early to mid-19th century, served as a parish manse. It is a two-storey building with three bays and features a wide gabled central porch. The exterior is made of painted rubble with contrasting ashlar margins. It has sash windows with a 4-pane glazing pattern, straight skews, and possibly rebuilt end stacks, all topped by a slate roof. A full-height shallow rear wing and a low range adjoin the main structure, along with a detached outbuilding.
To the southwest, there is a walled garden with walls constructed of rubble and topped with red ashlar coping. The previous parish manse, located to the northwest of the house, is now in poor condition and has been converted into a barn. This earlier manse dates back to 1761 and is two storeys high, originally consisting of three bays but extended to the north. It is also rubble-built with ashlar dressings, and most windows have been blocked, leaving only slit ventilator openings. The original doorway has been replaced with a wide slapping, and it has a slate roof.
