Description

Holmside in Powfoot is a brick-built double villa designed by Frank C Carruthers of Lockerbie and Dumfries in 1900. The building is a single storey with an attic and features two-bay houses with paired inner doors. It has a distinctive 2-light wallhead gable and decorative eaves. The villa has modern doors, although the original tall fanlights and glazing remain. It includes end stacks and a slate roof with red ridging tiles. The front gardens are walled with brick and face the roadside.
