Description
The sundial at Lochinch Castle dates from the late 17th century, with its shaft and steps, while the polygonal dial was replaced in 1889. It features circular stone steps that are approximately 10 feet in diameter. The sundial is supported by a column with Ionic capitals, which is intricately carved with spiralling vines. It includes ovolo moulding and a polygonal faced dial, with cup hollows on alternating faces. At the top, there is a ball finial.
