Description
This is a late 18th and early 19th century farmhouse with symmetrical wings. The farmhouse is two stories high and originally had three bays. The walls are harled and covered in ivy, with painted ashlar margins and brick nogging at the eaves; the main structure was likely built primarily of brick. The front of the house has a central door and bipartites (pair of windows) were inserted on the ground floor. The windows are sash windows with a 4-pane glazing pattern. Straight skews and margined end stacks are also present. Each wing features a Venetian window, and the roof is piended (hipped) at the south side, with a gabled north apex stack. The roof is covered with graded slates, and two modern rooflights have been inserted into the north wing.
The farmhouse is set behind a low, whitewashed rubble-built wall topped with spiked iron railings and a red ashlar coping stone. Corniced gatepiers, also constructed of red ashlar, mark the entrance. The steading is not included within the listing.
