The Anwoth Hotel, Fleet Street, Gatehouse Of Fleet

The Anwoth Hotel is an early 19th century inn located on Fleet Street in Gatehouse of Fleet, with an annex building to the north that is part of an older late 18th century structure. The main elevation facing Fleet Street features a four-bay design with granite rubble walling. The first floor appears to have a different character from the ground floor, suggesting possible rebuilding. The elevation includes raised granite margins and angles, with an off-centre right pilastered doorpiece made of polished granite. To the right of the door, there is a single window, while to the left, there are a bipartite window and another single window. The first floor has four single windows, all of which are sash and case with four-pane glazing.

The building has end skews with block skewputts and coped end stacks. There are also a pair of modern box dormers with modern glazing set beneath slate roofs. The flank of the building is rendered and features two windows.

The northern elevation is rendered and consists of a five-bay design with raised cills. There are doors in the end bays, with the left door being pilastered. All windows on this elevation are single light, sash and case with plate glass glazing. The building has tall end stacks and steeply pitched slate roofs.
