Description

Haugh Bridge is a stone bridge, likely built around 1763 as part of a military road scheme. It spans 100 feet and features two semi-circular arches over the Urr Water, located near the village of Haugh of Urr. The bridge has V-cutwater buttresses, with polished voussoirs, springers, and the lower portions of the buttresses, while the rest is constructed from rubble. The heavily pointed rubble parapet is topped with polished coping. There are central pedestrian refuges over the buttresses and the abutment walls at both ends of the carriageway are angled. The arch-ring voussoirs may have been rebuilt in the 19th century.
