Description

Late 18th century with later alterations and additions. 3-storey and attic former classical tenement on corner site; enveloping additions built out at ground and 1st floor. Droved cream sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. Rusticated long and short quoins. Eaves cornice.

PRINCES STREET ELEVATION: 5-bay. Modern shops at ground; early 20th century painted timber 1st floor with 3 mullioned and transomed windows divided by arched panels; canted window at corner; mutuled cornice and balustrade. Pair of canted and piend-roofed dormers.

SOUTH CHARLOTTE STREET ELEVATION: 4-bay gable to N; ground and 1st floors of 3 S bays as above; N bay built out at ground with modern door to common stair; at 2nd floor, centre right window blind; pair of attic windows to gable. 5-bay block to S with modern shop built out at ground as above; pair of bipartite timber dormers.

Timber sash and case 12-pane windows; plate glass to attic. Ashlar coped skews; corniced stone stacks; grey slates.

INTERIOR: modernised at ground.
