3 Priestfield Road, Edinburgh

This building at 3 Priestfield Road in Edinburgh is a house from the later 19th century, featuring two stories and three bays with unique detailing. It is constructed from stugged cream sandstone with ashlar dressings, and includes a base course, raised long and short quoins, a cornice, and a blocking course. The ground floor showcases stylised architraves and decorative chip-carved stonework.

On the south elevation, there is a central tripartite doorway with a panelled door and a full-width, round-arched plate glass fanlight. The door surround is adorned with stylised pilasters, decorative heraldic panels, and a dentilled lintel, while heraldic carvings are present at the keystone and springing of the arch. Above the doorway, there is a single architraved window. To the outer right, a full-height, three-light, canted window features stop-chamfered reveals and bracketed cills on the first floor, along with a carved panel above the central first-floor window. On the outer left of the ground floor, there is a bipartite window, with an advanced bipartite window above that has a bracket and an engaged sphere motif on the cill.

The windows are made of plate glass and are timber sash and case style. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a piended design, with coped wallhead stacks topped with square cans.
