Description

WALL: 18th century; coped rubble wall incorporating composite garden folly of fireplace and dormerheads, and ice house entrance.

FIREPLACE: 1624. Renaissance fireplace enriched with Greek fret, rosettes and dog-tooth. Inscription along cornice reads: I MAR 1624 YEAR SO AS LIVELY STONES ARE BUILT UP A SPIRITUAL HOUSE I PETER 2 5. Surmounting tympani from dormer windows with crowning finials: rose, thistle and star.

ICE HOUSE ENTRANCE: carved strapwork; shield on lintel showing combined arms of Foulis and Bannatyne families; detached stone above with crowning sun.
