Description

Early 20th century. 2 storey with basement and attic, 5 bay, near symmetrical pair of houses with baronial details. Cream sandstone squared and snecked rubble with red sandstone polished ashlar dressings. Advanced cills and cornices to ground floor canted bays; cill course to 1st floor windows; cornice and blocking course to canted bays; deeply overhanging dentilled eaves.

S (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: doorway in bay to penultimate left; 2 leaf panelled outer door; broken pediment and carved finials to doorpiece; bipartite windows to ground floor central bays; single windows to 1st floor above. Full height, 3 light windows to outer bays. 4 corniced box dormers.

E (COBDEN ROAD) ELEVATION: piended porch with segmental arched openings and flanking pilasters; single window to 1st floor above; corbelled,

3 light canted window to 1st floor outer right with carved wood parapet; box dormer above. Gablehead stack with carved baronial shield.

Predominantly plate glass, timber sash and case windows; small paned dormers and porch. Grey slate, swept pitched roofs; coped wallhead and ridge stacks.

INTERIOR: not seen 1996.

BOUNDARY WALLS: low coped boundary walls to street.
