Description
48 Gilmore Place in Edinburgh is an early 19th-century house that has undergone later alterations. It is a two-storey, two-bay structure, which is now divided. The right bay features a piended roof, possibly added later, while the two left bays have similar roofing. The right bay is constructed of rubble, while the left bay and the return to Lower Gilmore Place are harled. The entrance to No 48 Gilmore Place has a corniced surround with blind sidelights. The outer bays on the first floor have tripartite windows. The windows of No 3 Lower Gilmore Place are asymmetrically placed, and there is a timber panelled door in a corniced moulded surround.
The boundary wall consists of a low ashlar-coped rubble wall along Gilmore Place.
