71 Gilmore Place, Edinburgh

73 Gilmore Place is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey, symmetrical pair of plain classical houses with a rectangular plan. The exterior is constructed from coursed sandstone, featuring painted polished ashlar door surrounds and polished ashlar cills, with quoins on the outer right and long and short surrounds on the windows.

The northwest elevation, which serves as the entrance, has rusticated doorpieces with voussoirs and keystones in the two central bays, along with long and short surrounds and timber doors. There are single windows on the first floor above and in both floors of the flanking bays.

The windows are two- and four-pane timber sash and case types. The roof is covered with grey slate, featuring stone skews, skylights, and coped gablehead stacks with moulded cans. The property also has cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior was not seen in 1997. The boundary walls consist of low coped walls on the outer left and right.
