Description
The Dr Andrew Balfour Drinking Fountain, located on Whitehill Street in Newcraighall, was built in 1907 by Sun Foundry in Glasgow. It features an open square plan made of cast iron, supported by four columns with decorative foliated capitals. These columns carry cusped arches adorned with overarch decoration, angle finials, and a dome. There are dolphins at the internal angles, although one is missing. The fountain includes a pillar design created by Glenfield and Kennedy from Kilmarnock.
