Kirk Farmhouse, 6 Lasswade Road, Edinburgh

Kirk Farmhouse is an early 18th century, 2-storey, symmetrical 3-bay house located at 6 Lasswade Road in Edinburgh. It features a single storey wing to the east and an L-plan range of ancillary buildings attached to the west. The building is constructed from rendered sandstone rubble, with later raised cills and window surrounds.

On the south elevation, which serves as the entrance, there is a modern timber sun-porch at the center of the ground floor, with a widened single window above. The remaining bays have single windows on both floors, and the single storey wing is recessed to the outer right.

The interior was not seen in 1999. The house has 2-pane timber sash and case windows and a steeply pitched grey slate roof, characterized by prominent skews and coped gablehead stacks.

Adjoining the house to the west is an L-plan range of single storey offices. The property is enclosed by a high boundary wall next to the single storey wing that faces the street, along with a lower coped wall to the street and a high coped wall along the southern boundary.
