68, 70, 72, 74, 76 Dundas Street is a terraced tenement building from the early 19th century, likely designed by Thomas Bonnar. It stands four stories high with a basement and features nine bays. The exterior is made of broached ashlar sandstone, with V-jointed rustication at the principal floor. There are band courses between the basement and the principal floor, as well as between the principal floor and the first floor. The windows at the first and second floors have projecting cills, and there is a continuous cornice at the second floor along with a cornice and blocking course at the third floor. The building has ashlar steps and entrance platts that extend over the basement.

On the eastern (principal) elevation, there is a six-panel timber common stair door set in a round-arched doorpiece at the center of the principal floor. There are also six-panel timber doors in the third bays from the left and right, featuring radial semicircular fanlights. The remaining bays on the principal floor have windows, and the upper floors exhibit regular fenestration.

The northern (Cumberland Street) elevation has a coursed rubble gable that includes a six-bay basement, with pilastered and corniced doorpieces, panelled timber doors, and multi-pane rectangular fanlights in the third and fifth bays from the left. The remaining bays contain windows, and the upper floors have windows that are centrally placed.

The southern elevation adjoins another terrace, which is listed separately (56-66A Dundas Street). The building features 12-pane timber sash and case windows, a grey slate M-roof, and cast-iron rainwater goods. The ridge and gablehead stacks are broached and coped, with circular cans.

The interiors were not seen in 1997, but there is some evidence of working panelled shutters. The railings consist of ashlar copes topped with cast-iron railings that have spear-headed balusters and pineapple finials.
