Description

9 Whitehouse Terrace is a villa built around 1863, featuring two stories and a near rectangular plan with a service wing at the rear. The exterior is constructed from squared and snecked sandstone rubble, with an ashlar south elevation. It includes a base course, dividing and eaves band courses, raised quoins, a parapet, architraved windows, and bracketed cills.

The south entrance elevation showcases an advanced round-arched doorway in the central bay, topped with a cornice and a pierced parapet that has ball finialled dies. Above the doorway is a panelled door and a single window on the first floor. To the outer right, there is a corniced two-storey four-light canted window in an advanced bay, with a pierced ashlar parapet featuring ball finialled dies that forms a balcony for a single window set in the gablehead. The outer left bay contains bipartite windows. The parapet and gable are adorned with ball and obelisk finials. The villa predominantly features plate glass sash and case windows, a grey slate roof, canted box dormers on the south and north sides, and corniced gablehead stacks on the east and west, with moulded octagonal cans and finials at the angles, skews, and gablehead.

The interior was not seen in 1991.

The property includes decorative iron gates, two corniced ashlar gatepiers with ball finials, and a pedestrian gateway to the right of the carriage gateway, also featuring a decorative iron gate. There are high coped boundary and mutual walls, as well as a pitched roof garage located to the east of the house.
