60 Main Street, Newhaven, Edinburgh

60 Main Street in Newhaven, Edinburgh, is an early 19th-century tenement that was recast and converted by Ian Lindsay & Partners around 1970. It is a three-storey, four-bay rectangular building that is part of a terrace. The exterior is harled and limewashed, featuring a projecting string course and raised, painted concrete surrounds around the openings.

On the south elevation, there is a timber boarded door for entry located in the bay to the left of the centre, with a three-light fanlight above it. The ground floor has single windows in the remaining bays, while the first and second floors are regularly fenestrated.

The north elevation is also regularly fenestrated across all floors. The building has 12-pane timber sash and case windows on both the north and south sides. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes a large rooflight in the central bay. There is a harled gablehead stack on the east side and a mutual ridge stack on the west side, which features precast concrete copes and circular cans.
