Description

Probably Campbell Douglas and J J Stevenson, 1860-9. Single storey U-plan stable buildings, accessed through gabled pend with attic storey above. Stugged, squared and snecked sandstone ashlar with polished dressings. Corniced string course to front elevation at left of pend; cornice above pend; skews, skew-putts and ball finials to gable.

N (FRONT) ELEVATION: pair of small 3-pane rectangular windows above string course at left; gabled dormer between, at attic level, breaking eaves, with vertically boarded opening; corniced bipartite window at left of pend; centred window to gable above pend; window at right of pend; wallhead stack with slightly advanced chimney-breast at right.

INNER COURTYARD: 3-bay block at right, with small lean-to construction to re-entrant angle; timber door with rectangular fanlight to bay to centre; large window at left; small window at right; irregularly disposed doors and windows to remaining sides of yard and to adjoining single storey block to rear at right.

WALL AND ADJOINING BUILDINGS AT LEFT: coped rubble boundary wall to street at left, with single storey rectangular-plan building behind, adjoining left (E) arm of courtyard; variety of garage entrances to ground; skewed gable at right incorporating recessed, cilled opening.
