Description
27 Upper Gray Street is an early 19th-century, two-storey, four-bay classical house that is part of a terrace. It is constructed from lightly stugged cream sandstone ashlar and features a base course, a cill course for the first-floor windows, a cornice, and a blocking course.
The west entrance elevation includes corniced doorways in the second and third bays, with panelled doors and circular patterned geometric fanlights above. There are single windows on the first floor above these doorways, bipartite windows on both floors in the outer left bay, and tripartite windows on both floors in the outer right bay.
The windows of No 27 are plate glass, timber, sash and case, while No 29 has 12-pane, timber, sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and has a pitched design with mutual rendered and coped ridge stacks and moulded cans.
The interiors were not seen in 1995. The property has low coursed and coped boundary walls along the street, with replacement railings.
